Privacy notice

You can use Campervan Atlas without an account. We collect as little as we can, and we don't sell or share data for advertising.

Browsing

There are no advertising or analytics cookies, and no tracking scripts from advertisers. Your browser stores a few preferences on your device only, in local storage: light or dark theme, the last search tab you used, and, if you start a partner application, a draft of your non-personal answers (never your name or email). Clear them at any time in your browser settings.

To see which "list with us" links and forms work, the site sends small anonymous events to our own server (for example "a partner button was shown", "step 2 of the application was completed"). They contain an event name, a short label and the country Cloudflare reports for the request. They contain no cookie, identifier, IP address, browser details, page address or anything you type. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, no events are sent. They are stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine.

We don't run a page-view analytics service.

Like any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse (see Cloudflare below).

Enquiries to owners

When you send an enquiry from a listing, we store your name, email, optional phone number, dates, number of guests and message in our database, and forward them to that listing's owner by webhook and/or email so they can reply to you directly. We only do this when you tick the consent box. The owner then handles your data under their own privacy policy.

We delete the personal details in enquiries automatically 90 days after they are sent.

Contact form and partner applications

Messages from the contact form are emailed to us and not stored as messages. To let us reply without exposing anyone's address, we keep the sender's name, email and the subject for 60 days, then delete them.

If a campsite, rental company or owner applies on the partners pages (or claims a place on our map), we store the business and contact details they give us, and the place they claimed, to review the application and run their account. A product feed address given on the form is stored encrypted.

Partner dashboard

Partners sign in with a one-time link we email to their contact address; we store only a fingerprint (hash) of each link, and links expire after 20 minutes (24 hours for the approval email). Signing in sets one strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 7 days; it is deleted when you sign out. We store only a hash of it.

Premium payments (owners only)

Travellers never pay us. Owners who choose Premium pay through Stripe, which hosts the payment and billing pages. We never see or store card details. We share with Stripe the partner's contact email and our partner reference, and Stripe tells us the subscription's status, plan and renewal date, which we keep while the account exists. Stripe processes payment data under its own privacy policy, including for fraud prevention and tax.

Click-outs

When you choose "Check availability", we record which listing was clicked and when, and add a reference to the link so the owner can see the visit came from us. This record contains no name, email or IP address.

Abuse protection

Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is submitting them. To limit spam we also count form submissions per network, using a one-way hash of your IP address rather than the address itself.
